Student Council

Saint Paul's School is very proud of the involvement of almost all grade levels in its Student Government.

In the fall, students from each homeroom class grades 2-8 run for and are elected to the position of class representative. It is the responsibility of each pair of grade level representatives to attend weekly meetings. They take notes so that they can report to their classmates on decisions made during the meetings. It is also their job, like a national or state representative to take the issues and concerns of their fellow students to the student government at large for discussion and or resolution.

Middle school students campaign for election to the position of treasurer, secretary, vice president and president. After an assembly dedicated to election speeches, grades 2-8 participate in going to the poles to vote for the candidates of their choice. The teachers of grades 2-5 take their entire class to the poles where each student's name is checked off, they complete individual ballots and are given an "I Voted" sticker. Middle school students demonstrate their maturity and responsibility by visiting the poles on their own time before school and at lunch.

As a means to accomplish their many tasks, they sell ice cream is also sold in the store during the daily lunch period.
