Nineteen-fifty.  The Korean War began that year.  Tensions were high between the communist North Korea and the democratic South Korea.  St. Paul's Catholic School revisited this near forgotten period of time with the help of visiting Korean War veterans.

Local veterans of the Korean War have made a tradition of visiting St. Paul's during Catholic Schools Week.  The veterans discussed their own tours of duty, the war, and their lives afterwards.  They encouraged student questions and helped raise awareness of the moral issues of war.  The Korean War vets are currently sponsoring an essay contest for the middle school students.
