Former student and presently a teacher at St. Paul's School

How did St. Paul's School impact your life?

St. Paul's School had the same atmosphere then that it possesses now which is a feeling of belonging to a large, caring, extended 'family'. The classes were small and this made learning easier because of the individual attention. Those of us who were fortunate to complete it through the 8th. grade entered high school advanced by almost a year. We all left with a good sense of achievement, compassion, responsibility, and faith, as these were instilled in our daily lives. I find myself drawing on those feelings throughout my teaching experience on a regular basis as they were ingrained in me for six critically formative years.

St. Paul's School influenced me by setting high standards for each of us and expecting no less than our best. We were taught that not only was a good education important for our future but it would be a waste not to use our God-given talents to their fullest potential.

How did St. Paul's School impact your life?

St. Paul's School prepared me fully for Leesburg High School; University of Notre Dame; and then Florida State Law School. I enjoy practicing law and helping people with their legal problems.

St. Paul’s School influenced me by helping me to learn that there is so much more to life than making money. I’ve been fortunate in providing for my family while still being able to enjoy the life God has given me.

One fond memory I have is of Sister Thaddeus hitching up her habit a bit to play a good game of baseball with us.

Former student and presently a teacher at St. Paul’s School

How did St. Paul's School impact your life?

St. Paul’s School taught me how important my Catholic faith is to me. I learned at a young age to stand up for what I believe in and never to be afraid or embarrassed about my religion and life values.

It was when I was in second grade at St. Paul’s that I knew I would become a teacher. While attending St. Leo University, I decided I wanted to teach in a Catholic school because of the experiences I had had at St. Paul’s, and I wanted to be able to give back what was given to me.

My fondest memory of St. Paul’s School was how friendly and loving all the staff and faculty was to everyone. No matter who you were and what was happening everyone made you feel welcome.

How did St. Paul's School impact your life?

St. Paul’s School taught me the importance of God and family in my life. I still feel like I am a part of St. Paul’s School family. I also learned to always have a positive attitude and give your best in life.

My fondest memory was having all of my family in school with me at one time. There were five family members attending the school with me. It was a tradition, and one I intend to continue when I have children.
